Project Details

The existing partitioning, flooring, ceiling, lighting, wall tiles, toilet cubicles, electrical and mechanical services were all stripped out. Externally, the complete site of over seven thousand square metres was extensively prepared, tarmacked and had drainage installed. Paladin, palisade and hit-and-miss timber fencing and gates were installed to cordon off the sales and storage areas. The work was carried out after relocating the staff into temporary office buildings, located in the dealership car park.

After the strip out works were completed, extensive internal building works were carried out to reconfigure the existing walls and to provide trenching for the water, power and data services needed for the new vehicle and specialist showroom furniture locations. Stud partitioning, glazing and ceilings were installed throughout the showroom and office areas. Ceramic floor tiling was applied to the showroom, handover bays and service areas. The existing showroom cladding, roller shutter doors and shopfront glazing were resprayed internally and externally, and new bifold and steel security access doors were installed. Stud partitioning, ceilings, office glazing and soft floor finishes were fitted throughout the showroom, offices and BOH (Back of House) areas. Laminated doors, skirting boards and architraves were applied to the entire property. A canteen facility was added with a full refurbishment of the existing washrooms including hygienic wall finishes and sanitary ware.

Comprehensive mechanical and electrical services were added to all areas with new air conditioning and ventilation systems as well as power, ceiling and raft lighting and data services. Feature LED lighting within the specialist showroom furniture was an integral part of the lighting fit out. The customer washrooms were refitted with ceramic wall and floor tiling, new IPS (Intruder Protection Systems) and sanitary ware.

The workshop was refurbished with decorations, LED lighting, power and data services and finished with a specialist resin. To facilitate these works, extensive demolition works were completed. The workshop was originally divided into two sections with a full-height blockwork wall and this was demolished to provide an open plan workshop. All the works in this area were phased to allow the workshop to continue to operate throughout the fit out.

Extensive external works were completed to open up areas of unprepared ground facilitating the storage of vehicles. This involved extensive clearance of a wooded area which required the ground to be fully excavated and prepared to take the new tarmac finish. As these were new areas, a drainage system was installed with an attenuation facility. Hit-and-miss timber fencing was installed to separate the rear car storage areas and to provide a new bin store and AC (Air Conditioning) compound. The existing perimeter palisade fencing was extended to partition off the sections of the site. At the front of the development forecourt protection hoops, telescopic bollards and paladin fencing were installed with sliding gates. Laurel bushes were installed to complete the ‘Motorparks look’ along with block paved walkways to the entrances of the showroom.
