Project Details

A full strip out and refurbishment of the current sales and after sales facilities. The existing partitioning, flooring, ceilings, lighting, wall tiles, toilet cubicles, electrical and mechanical services were all stripped out ready for the new updated Mercedes brand design to be installed.

The work was carried out in four phases with the sales and aftersales staff continuing to work within the building throughout the project. This required complex phasing and programming of the work. Temporary demountable hoardings were installed and relocated throughout the dealership as the phases progressed. All noisy work was completed out of hours along with the internal respraying of the roof and curtain walling.

New ceramic floor tiling was laid in the showroom along with a specialist resin finish in the car showroom area. These were to a very specific curved design, requiring expert setting out and skill to ensure the curve was kept uniform throughout each area. Data and electrical connections were fitted to provide services to the showroom, desk and reception locations. These were laid in trunking recessed into the existing, concrete flooring. The roof structure and internal walls were resprayed white, with some black and silver finishes.

The BOH (Back of House) facilities were reconfigured to provide a new office layout and washrooms. Stud partitioning, ceilings, office glazing, general joinery and soft floor finishes were installed throughout. Electrical, data, lighting, plumbing and ventilation services were connected to the newly created offices and washrooms. The offices were designed to provide a better staff experience by reconfiguring the layout and adding a modern, glazed partitioning system. This provided an open plan feel with clear visibility of the showroom area.

The old AC (Air Conditioning) services were removed and up-to-date units were fitted with ventilation throughout. The washrooms were completely refitted to the high standards required for the new brand design. Ceramic wall and floor tiling were laid along with stunning Dolphin Alavo Washwall systems. Partitions and IPS (Intruder Protection Systems) were installed providing modern and sophisticated washroom facilities.

Externally, the block paved driveway was taken up and reconfigured to provide a stylish connection from the car park to the dealership. The old steel entrance canopy feature was dismantled and redesigned with new steelwork and roof finishes. The existing dealership roof soffits were sprayed white, and the external curtain walling was given black and silver features.
