FG Barnes Workshop
Automotive Case study
We undertook these construction works for FG Barnes in order to fully refurbish an existing workshop, starting with stripping the building back to its portal frame structure and rebuilding the facility.
We removed all existing workshop equipment, racking and the mezzanine floor, as well as the asbestos roof, cladding and access doors. These were replaced with new structural steelwork for a new roof, cladding, fast action vehicle doors and pedestrian access doors.
Our team carried out the internal fit out of the workshop once the building was secure and watertight, which included new heating systems, lighting, electrical services, wall linings and floor coverings. A new office space was also created in the workshop’s staff-only area, as well as canteen facilities, washroom and shower spaces, and WCs.
Upon completion of these works, new VOSA floor markings were added to the workshop ready for the specialist installation of the MOT testing equipment.
The contractor work was carried out over a 15 week period divided into three phases, allowing the automotive workshop to remain fully functional while we carried out these turnkey works.
