Vanguard incorporated retail mezzanine floors within Cotswold Stores in several stores. These were complemented by steel balustrade systems and oak top rail detail to be in-keeping with the Cotswold image and feature staircases.

Cotswold Outdoor was first established in 1974 as Cotswold Camping in premises consisting of small out buildings in the Cotswolds.

They have since grown to become an award winning retailer with an ever expanding portfolio of stores nationwide. Selling one of the most comprehensive ranges of outdoor clothing and equipment in the UK, including ski and snowboard equipment, camping, trekking and hiking items as well as maps and guides. Additionally, Cotswold Outdoor is recognised as the UK’s leading on line retailer within this sector.

Vanguard were appointed to incorporate retail mezzanine floors within Cotswold Stores, complete with steel “self-finish” balustrade systems and oak top rail detail to accommodate and complement feature staircases with oak treads and mid landings.

Within the various sites additional features designed to individual specifications were introduced including a jumbo compartment wall in order to separate retail from back of store, as well as a “Part M” disabled pedestrian platform lift. Where necessary MF ceilings were added to the underside of the structure with stud partitioning, constructed to provide fire performance whilst creating clean lines.

The overall finishes were specifically engineered to be not only practical but also be in keeping with Cotswolds image. This was achieved through the incorporation of timber and natural stone features, which echo the rustic outdoor theme.
